Fun fact: I actually started WellBalanced in 2017 under the name My Wellness Matters. I had just started my Graduate program and most of my focus was on fitness and nutrition. I knew I wanted to help people - that’s it that’s all. In 2020, I was going through the back-and-forth battle of figuring out my career and having difficulty producing content on my page. Then it hit me, the Wellness Wheel! The Wellness Wheel became my focus and thus the birth, or rebrand, of WellBalanced was born!
You may be wondering what the Wellness Wheel is. So, let me drop a gem on ya! In 1976, Dr. Bill Hettler outlined 6 dimensions of wellness to help people understand and achieve a complete and well-rounded lifestyle. Over time, the wheel has grown and some wheels reference up to 12 different dimensions. However, here at WellBalanced, we focus on an 8-dimension approach.

Emotional
Intellectual
Financial
Occupational
Environmental

Health refers to a state where the physical body is free from disease while wellness is a state of balance in multiple areas of one's lifestyle. While physical health is important, we must take care of ourselves holistically as wellness has a direct influence on overall health and often highlights areas that are missed in general health.
